December 11, 2013 - After nearly 28 years of service at Josco Melius and for her principals Shar Renelt has decided to hang up her sales bag and turn her energy and passion to her family, her properties and other interests outside of the workplace. Shar has been a tremendous contributor to the success of Josco Melius over the years and has effectively worked with many different people at JMI, our principals and customers. Greg Larson has said many times that nobody can dig up new opportunities like Shar does! Her tireless pursues usually paid off with a new opportunity for our principals to consider and her customers always appreciated the extra effort and attention that Shar was willing to provide. Shar has demonstrated over and over how skillful she is at building a bridge between her customers and our principals with several of her programs lasting for over a decade.

For those of us fortunate enough to work with Shar every day, her smile and warm greeting every morning will be missed. Her door was always open to share a story, to celebrate a success or empathize with a challenging situation at work or home. I hope we all learned from Shar how to be better listeners for one another.

Please join us in wishing Shar the very best in the future. She will be truly missed and we hope to see her often at the Josco Melius World Headquarters ------ there will always be hot coffee and warm conversation for Shar at JMI.

All our best,
Greg, Dennis, Allen, Brad and James

July 16, 2012 - Onyx EMS is pleased to announce the release of its integrated SMT line design Onyx EMS is pleased to announce the release of its integrated SMT line design into production use. For the past two years Onyx Engineering has been designing and working with several industry equipment leaders to create a market leading process for Medical and mil Aero product assembly. Coupling internal innovation in software design and process controls along with the Equipment venders technology advancements the line has significant advantages in several areas.

Quality – For the first 3 products moved to the new assembly process a realization of 81% reduction in defects has been measured and verified. Quality was the prime focus for the design effort. The line has improved key variable controls including the print process and reflow process specifically. With a built in validation strategy of SPI and AOI there is a constant feedback mechanism internal to the process itself.

Efficiency (Cost Controls) – The runtime of the first 3 products moved saw a 14% reduction in run time and the set up time has dropped in half. This helps assure product delivery and helps drive cost controls.

Regulatory – The new line has the capability to trace all component lot numbers to Serial number for complete traceability. This also includes equipment parameters at the time of board processing. For example when serial number 123 went through the oven the temps it was set at and measured were recorded.

Capability – The new line has expanded capability in both board size and component size. See chart below for new capabilities. The automation in this system is also integrated with the enterprise software systems (Oracle, Aegis) for the factory that manage process, scheduling as well as material motion and consumption across products.

These added capabilities and results sets Onyx above the rest with a superior technology suite directly tied to quality and cost for our customers.
